I
have over 20 years experience developing methodology for, and analysing,
mainly clinical projects in the areas of Nursing, Occupational Therapy,
Ophthalmology, Physiotherapy and Prosthetics & Orthotics. I have also
worked on projects in areas such as environmental security and women in
the legal profession.
I was until recently a Vice Chair of the UK Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional
Education [CAIPE], I am Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. I have been appointed as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Interprofessional
Care [JIC]. I review regularly for the Journal of Advanced Nursing [JAN]
and for JIC, and occasionally for Medical Teacher, Prosthetic & Orthotics International, The Journal of Experimental Education
and for BMJ Quality & Safety.
I was a Statistical Expert for the West of Scotland Research Ethics Service for
12 years and have run seminars on ethics in health research for post-graduate students
in the UK and South Africa. I was appointed a statistical expert to the UK Ministry of Defence
Research Ethics Committee [MODREC] in 2013.
I am an experienced supervisor of Honours Project, MSc Dissertations and
PhD theses in several areas, though mainly clinical.
